Analysis of Vishy Anand – Boris Gelfand World Championship Match 2012 Game 6 by Grandmaster Daniel King

  1. Unfortunately, in this world some music video will get a million hits and a brilliant chess analysis has only a few thousand hits. Chess is a great game and it deserves to be more popular.

  2. please do not start your video with the score – it's nice not to know how the game ends.

  3. Boris Gelfand looks like he should be eating a corned beef sandwich…

  4. I agree with that. It's a really great analysis nonetheless. Thanks for your efforts!

  5. I'll bear that in mind! Thanks for the comment – DK

  6. Unfortunately there wasn't time to go into all the variations, otherwise I would have mentioned these moves. 18 Qb3 and 18 Qd3 would be met in the same way – with 18…Rfd8 and White still cannot develop the bishop (19 Bd2 Rxd5 20 Qxd5 Rd8). And if development isn't possible, White could be in big trouble. In other words, Gelfand's decision to return the pawn was correct. – DK

  7. Good analysis. I notice you went for a glass of water today, rather than a slurp of tea.

  8. yes, an unfortunate variation as we haven't yet learned if biscuits will be dunked or undunked by the GM.

  9. to end the draws, one have to be courageous and try 1.c4
